Good posture. (Standing up straight.)

How you carry yourself will show the world how you feel – think about it, when you’re feeling down, you may walk with your head down and everything becomes a drag. When you’re feeling confident, you may stand a little taller. The way I learnt how to have good posture was to imagine a gold string running from my spine and pulling me up to the heavens. Standing up straight will also lift your mood and start to build that all-important confidence within.

Have an open posture.

Having open postures is a great way to display confidence within a group or one-on-one. For example, when you talk with a group or someone, use open hand gestures to display your palms. This does two things: it shows the room you’re not concealing anything and lets others know that you’re confident in what you’re saying. You can also go as far as to spread your fingers apart.

Keep your hands out of your pockets.

A very common body language cue of someone who lacks confidence is to keep their hands in their pockets. You want to keep your hands on display to build trust and confidence with other people.

Relax.

Relax. It’s easier said than done, but the more you can control your internal feelings, the better you will become at staying in control of your body language. Most people can pick up on nervous body language displays. If you’re feeling nervous or need to gain control for any reason, you can always curl your toes in your shoes. This helps focus the mind and remove any excess energy.

Don’t fidget.

A big one to display confident body language don’t fidget or move a lot – fidgeting can show there is something going on within you. Be cool!

Make sure your clothing fits well.

Most people don’t think of clothing as body language, but it is, in fact, very much so. What we wear on our bodies to cover and protect displays who we really are or want to become. It also helps if we feel we look good or at our best if we feel confident.

Uncrossed Or Crossed arms.

Double-edged sword this one; you have to think about context to get it right. When it comes to uncrossed arms or crossed arms it can show you are in control or just as easyly show you are being come closed off. If you are unsure don’t cross your arms would be our advice.

Leaning in.

To display confidence in a conversation, make sure to lean in slightly every so often. This demonstrates that you are taking time to listen to what they’re saying, while also displaying your own confidence as well.

Feet positioning.

When you want to go somewhere, your feet point to the direction you want to go. So when it comes to displaying confident body language, make sure you point your feet toward the person you’re speaking with. This will reassure them on an unspoken level that you’re sticking around.

Nodding.

Nodding your head in agreement displays confidence to others that you are in control and agree with what they are saying. Again, this is based on the context of the conversation, so don’t nod your head just because you think it looks good – do it when you agree with someone to show them they are correct.

Hand steeping.

A lot of people use steeping to display confidence. This is because it’s a complex body language cue that gets right a lot of extra energy. When you use the steeping, don’t do it in front of anyone who is senior to you unless you are on stage or giving a talk. Steeping can be seen as a dominant body language cue.

The One Thing You Need To Remember In Confident Body Language.

How To Look More Confident With Your Body Language

Truly confident people always have an air of positivity about them, and they are almost always moving slowly and deliberately. They never move at a quick or unintended pace. Keep your movement slow and natural.

The first thing to do is to make sure you are standing up straight, the more confident you look the more confident you will feel. Have good strong eye contact, smile, and draw people in. Use mirror and matching where you can and build rapid rapport.

As with any other social skill, it takes a while to learn how to read other people’s body language and match it with your own. How To Spot Unconfident Body Language.

Body language is a powerful form of communication. It can be used to convey many different messages and can be more telling than what someone actually says.

Some people find it difficult to read body language, but it is important to know how to spot the signs. The most obvious sign of discomfort or unconfidence in body language is crossed arms. Other signs include touching one’s face or hair, looking down at the ground, playing with one’s fingers, and looking away from the speaker.

A person who is confident will usually have a strong posture (shoulders back) and will look directly at the speaker without fidgeting too much. They will also maintain eye contact for longer periods of time without breaking it for other actions like fidgeting with their hands or nervously playing with their hair. If you don’t see these signs in a person they are unconfident in the world.
